About MOCSA

MOCSA is a club for owners and enthusiasts of the Legendary Mini. Founded in 1989 by the late Laurie Le Roy. We celebrate the famous little vehicle in all its different shapes and forms and encourage their owners to get out and enjoy them. We hold regular events (monthly) to allow members the opportunity to get together and show their cars off to the public.

We encourage members to participate in these events to further promote the Mini in Southern Africa and to nurse the legacy of these popular cars by sharing resources, and knowledge. Inviting all Mini owners, Mini Collectors, Friends of Mini drivers and all those who are just Mini crazed to join Mini Owners Club of Southern Africa (MOCSA) in celebrating 66 years of Mini Living.

Many questions were asked about the trophy. Unfortunately, we have only one trophy, and the following points are awarded towards the chairman's decision who has the right to who it's awarded to:

At each event, there is a register. if you don't sign the attendance for the event, you don't get a point.
Then, if you submit something newsworthy about your car or its history, which makes it special, that will give you a point.
During 2021, Bill Sales offered his home and workshop up for our AGM (Annual General Meeting). For that, he was awarded a point towards organizing the event.

Official events are planned a year in advance by the MOCSA Committee during AGM's (Annual General Meetings) which are held once a year. View our newsletter for more detail on all events.

Unofficial events are announced at short notice, thus, we will keep members updated on the West Rand, East Rand, and Pretoria WhatsApp event groups.

Although we are a National Club, we represent the inland Gauteng area. We have members around South Africa, and have representation in Bloemfontein, Durban and Cape Town. The Kwa-Zulu Natal, and Cape Town clubs have their own committee along with its event organizers, and localized clubs with their own membership and constitution.

To our Mini members and family of enthusiasts, A prosperous and blessed 2025. Can you believe a new year, new beginnings and, new challenges. We were very fortunate to have quite a few members join us on our last outing to Prison Break. In a way an interesting concept in the various halls with Entrepreneur's doing their best to promote their businesses.

We at MOCSA trust you've all had a great festive season and that wherever you spent it with loved ones, it was awesome making memories. Exciting news is that are launching an updated website soon. We are planning an awesome event calendar for 2025 where more leg stretching runs will be on the program. We will not neglect the usual events as we have been accustomed to.

If you have any suggestions of what you'd like to see or do please don't hesitate to contact one of us on the committee. As you are aware we are planning a few events to include MINI South Africa and Boxer group so keep an eye out on our Facebook page, Instagram and, Newsletters. From the Chairman's seat | August 2025

Year end is slowly creeping up on us, the year started off with a bang and a few good runs

Mid year took a dip and from my view it is because of the cold and it's cozier to stay home in front of a warm fire than brave the early morning cold.

It is getting warmer, andI must say we have some fantastic events to look forward to over the next few months that are left. Cars In The Park turned out to be a good run this year and the event was well structured. It was easy to get out and you did not have to wait 3 hours to exit the gates. It was nice to see all the cars and just sit around, talk and catch up with members and even meeting some new potential members.

In September we have 2 runs coming up and I must say, “I think they are going to be fantastic”. You will not want to miss out on these events. MINI BIG BREAKFAST and the POKER RUN.

We have been invited by MINI South Africa to join them on their MINI BIG BREAKFAST run, you need to register for this run before 31 August, and the event is on 12 September. MINI South Africa is aiming to have 350 Minis on the run, and they are well on track to achieve their goal.

The pokerrun is on 28September; it will be a fun event playing poker while visiting various shops and restaurants in the Muldersdrift area. Please let us know if you will be joining on the day. August MOCSA Newsletter
